Community Land Trust Brussels

🥳 𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝘾𝙇𝙏 𝘿𝙖𝙮 According to the International Center for Community Land Trusts, there are over 600 Community Land Trusts worldwide. This May 17 is an opportunity to celebrate this movement. - Prochain événement - Une soirée pour partir à la rencontre, échanger et s’inspirer de l’expérience de deux coopératives d’habitant·es à Bruxelles et à Borlo (Limburg - Vlaanderen). Etienne De Leeuw (Coopérative Vill’age de Pass’age) et Sabrine Vanslembrouck (Wooncoöperatie Het Absthof) viennent témoigner et partager leurs vécus. La crise du logement abordable à Bruxelles et en Belgique touche de plus en plus de personnes. Les coopératives sont une solution complémentaire pour créer plus d'alternatives de logements. Ces coopératives l'ont fait ! Malgré les difficultés, les coopérateur·trices habitant·es ont réussi a fonder et bâtir leurs coopératives d'habitat. Sabrine et Etienne viennent nous partager leurs quotidiens et les enjeux passés, actuels et futurs de leurs coopératives. Bijzonder bezoek gisteren bij Community Land Trust Brussel. Henry Mentink kwam langs met zijn kruiwagen volgeladen met symbolische aarde. Henry is op 45 daagse pelgrimstocht van Varik in Nederland naar Parijs. Met zijn tocht wil hij de manier waarop wij met de aarde omgaan, en onderweg ontmoet hij interessante initiatieven. In Molenbeek ontmoette hij Mieke Van den Bussche en Lieven SOETE, bewoners van een CLTB woning. Lieven en Mieke waren zo vriendelijk om heel het gezelschap bij hen thuis te ontvangen en vertelden hun eigen verhaal: hoe zij de grond onder hun woning aan CLTB geschonken hebben, helemaal in de geest van Henry's tocht.

Vous y verrez que le CLTB, en 2023, c’est 1813 membres, 115 logements habités, 70 logements en étude ou en construction, 221 activités communautaires organisées par nos habitant·es, 23 travailleur·euses, etc. Vous le verrez, pour poursuivre notre mission, nous avons redoublé d’efforts, imaginé des solutions créatives et réfléchi à de nouvelles manières d’appliquer le modèle des Community Land Trust en Région bruxelloise et en Europe. Bien que des incertitudes persistent, nous réaffirmons notre ambition de créer, avec nos membres, une ville juste, durable et inclusive. And off we go! We are excited to announce the launch of the the Interreg North-West Europe (NWE) #UpcyclingTrust project. We are teaming with Community Land Trust, Organismes de Foncier Solidaire and other organisations: Ville de Lille (FR), CLT Gent (BE), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE), HABITER2030 (FR), Self-Organised Architecture (IR), Cork City Council - Comhairle Cathrach Chorcaí (IR), Métropole Européenne de Lille (MEL) (FR), Lille Métropole Habitat (FR) and Rennes Ville et Métropole (FR). Together, we are going to explore how the combination of (1) a thorough, circular renovation approach and (2) the decomodification of housing can lead to more sustainable and affordable cities in a structural way. Last Wednesday and Thursday we were in Lille for the kickoff meeting. All partners got to know each other and discovered two locations: the Petit Maroc district (one of the pilot projects) and the Cité Saint Maurice. This was followed by discussions on how to organize the partnership. We're delighted and very excited to be embarking on this new adventure with our partners.
